Legal Consultant – Sustainable Palm Oil, WWF Indonesia

Sekar Askarini is a legal consultant in the Sustainable Palm Oil program in WWF Indonesia since 2020.

She has assisted the program in developing a traceability tool with her legal background in environmental law, which includes agriculture, forestry, business licensing, and land rights.

She also actively contributes to the program’s publications such as on illegal palm oil plantations within forest areas and gender rights in the palm oil plantation business.

She attained her master’s degree from the University of Melbourne in 2019, focusing on environmental, climate change, and human rights law.

Rizkia is Sustainable Finance Program Lead at WWF-Indonesia.

In this capacity, she actively contributes to the financial sector at national level in integrating environmental, social and governance risk and opportunities into its business decision making processes through various engagement with key stakeholders such as regulators, banks and investors.

She has supported certain initiatives to help major national banks in setting up their initial ESG integration framework and took part in supporting the regulator’s First Movers on Sustainable Banking pilot project back in 2016-2017.

Together with the banks, she also took part in facilitating the establishment of a multi stakeholder platform on sustainable finance in 2018, namely Indonesia Sustainable Finance Initiative (ISFI/ IKBI) – in which the member representing more than 60% of national banking assets and currently acts as the Focal Point of the Secretariat.

I thrive working in the field to the board room, executing technical research products to navigating complex, multi-stakeholder solutions, and managing across geographies, cultures, and time zones.

Budi previously worked at Badan Restorasi Gambut Indonesia (BRG/Peatland Restoration Agency of Indonesia) as the Deputy Head of BRG for Planning and Cooperation.

Before being appointed as a deputy at BRG, Budi was the Director of Policy, Sustainability and Transformation at WWF Indonesia.

From 1991 to 2006, Budi was employed by the government as a civil servant at the Ministry of Environment (now the Ministry of Environment and Forestry) responsible for biodiversity conservation issues.

Throughout his career at MoE, Budi has often been Indonesia’s focal point for various mechanisms and processes of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. Budi has a degree on forestry study from Gadjah Mada University.

In 2004, he took postgraduate study at the University of Manchester, England, UK, for an M.Sc.

At the same university, Budi further studied political economy focusing on bilateral and multilateral development assistance to support the implementation of international environmental agreement.

Clementine Fournier is part of the Programme Officer UNEP WCMC and has experience as an Environmental Sustainability Associate at EY Earth to Supporting EY’s sustainability strategy, e.g. performing research on climate change impacts and key solutions and presenting the results to multiple stakeholders, including by designing interactive dashboard to report on complex data – Supporting on net zero transition and climate risks projects for private and public sector clients – Drafting thought leadership pieces on sustainability.

In 2019, Clementine Fournier work as a consultant – data & analytics – risk advisory.

The consulting missions for UK and global major entities: advisory services on data and visualisation (dashboards) to inform global strategy – Obtained the ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB)

Climate, Forestry, Biodiversity and Environmental Law in general becoming his focus. In May 2012 he decides to resigned from ICEL and become an individual environmental law practitioners.

After the REDD+ Task Force finish their working period (june 2013), he is hired by Rainforest Foundation Norway as a local REDD+ contact person. On 2016, he continue to work at a new challenging field at Winrock International.

Responsible for directing the project of Aliansi Sawit Lestari Indonesia.
